Here are some pictures of Badger, the first of him wondering if the camera is worth considering as food or is a plaything. The second showing him back in his loose box (deep litter system gives him extra height!). He's now a 31 or 32 year old gelding (in 2020) still with a mischievous streak. He belongs to a colleague of mine, Elizabeth McPhee, who comes from the Isle of Sheppey in Kent, UK (That's the island off the north coast of the Thames estuary). Badger had his field there for a long time but is now in a better field in Kent.
Here's a view of Badger looking out of the other side of his loose box. If you look carefully you may see the precautions that have had to be taken to prevent him eating the roses.
And now one of a young Badger probably taken in the early nineties. Pretending not to be visible but still being nosey even at that age....
