The Regent's Park Globe Dial by Wendy Taylor, 1989.  Time indicated by interpolation between the two fins that cast the smallest shadows. Gift to the Zoo by Alcan Inc, now Rio Tinto Alcan Inc.

Another similar and slightly earlier version of this dial - though cast in bronze - is situated at 51°36′50.2″N 3°56′25.5″W in Swansea Marina on Marine Walk in the Maritime Quarter.  Designed in 1987 again by Wendy Taylor It is a cast bronze sphere whose axis lies parallel to the axis of the earth. and reproduces in miniature the way the earth is bathed in sunlight. The time is again indicated by the fin which casts the least shadow.
